KAWS

KAWS, aka Brian Donelly, is the man responsible for such work as Kanye West’s 808’s and Heartbreaks album cover artwork as well as boasting an extensive toy range, paintings that sell in excess of $150,000, and shoes for Mark Jacobs, to name a few. It seems he’s been making a huge mark on the world, literally, and I have to say his style has really grown on me. I think he’s changing the way people see art, especially how he speaks to a younger demographic with his cartoon iconography and figurines.  I can’t see myself shelling out for his merchandise any time soon, however something like this would certainly ad some colour to my walls.

Cut and Paste

Great poster for the 2009 Cut and Paste event in London. I like the non-digital look, especially concidering this competition is based on using a tablet to construct a design in a 15 minute time frame. For more information click here.
